Venue

The venue for both nights of the 2008 Boston Bike Film Festival will be the Brattle Theater in Harvard Square. Festival is from 7-11 p.m. both nights


Friday Night: "Bent", a film about the love of a good recumbent, by Jane Machamer and Nancy Breaux; "Pretzel Ride, by Jacob Klensin, about a frequent ride to the pretzel factory in time for the first pretzels baked; "Have Your Cake", a coming of age film about a unique young woman, by Ashley James & Elton James; "Someone Faster", an obsessive tale about the quest for speed, by Geoff Adams; "Hybrid Pedal" by Dan Austin, about 1000 mile ride through pristine conservation lands to bring awareness about its endangerment.


Saturday Night: Remember 2 Breathe a film by Evan Schmitt, which follows the racing season; DIY, an extremely short film that relates the emancipation of women to the invention of the bicycle, by Lynn Robinson; Bike Messengers in Amsterdam about, well, you guessed it, by Dr. Michael Blayney; Livin' Large with Bikes Not Bombs, by Rob Fine; Another New Bike, an exciting chase scene with a smash up ending by Danny Madden; and Full Cycle, a documentary from the BBC about Graeme Obree (the subject of The Flying Scotsman)

 

We're still finalizing the roster so check back for additional film listings, but we have thus far a couple of racing films, some dramatic shorts and a lot of comedies!
