from the 2nd Annual Boston Bike Festival
Somerville, Mass., Oct. 21st, 2006
Congratulations
to the winners of the 2nd annual BBFF.
1st Place went to
Andy Hoffman with his film about a novice bike commuter, “It’s Like
Riding a Bike.”
2nd Place was won
by Dr. Matthew Schneps for his film “POVme,” about Tanya Markham,
a young woman trying to break her previous speed record on a specially-designed
aerodynamic (HPV) bicycle. Click

3rd Place was “Criminal
Mass,” a film about the aftermath of the mass arrests following
a Critical Mass Ride around the time of the Republican National
Convention in NYC in 2004, by Chris Ryan.
We had a fantastic
roster of films this year which made choosing the winners difficult.
Check out our story on NPR's "Only A Game," broadcast the weekend
following the film festival. Click

Once again,
we were able to contribute to both Mass Bike and Hub on Wheels.
This year we donated over $1,200.
This year's
early bird date for film submissions is August 17th and regular
date for film submissions is September 22nd. Our roster of films
should be up by the end of September.
